Eye Exam

Our eye examination evaluates your prescription, eye coordination, external/internal eye health for diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases. We also offer complimentary LASIK evaluations and pre-operative and post-operative care, complete contact lens fitting services for soft disposable lenses, lenses for astigmatism, rigid contact lenses, monovision and bifocal lenses, colored contact lenses, and specialty fits like keratonic and post-surgical lenses.

When you have an eye examination at Sonoma Eyeworks® you will experience new, computer-assisted instrumentation. Dr. Harmon believes in investing in the latest technology. "By consistently upgrading our equipment, the patient’s examination experience evolves. The eye examination becomes more accurate, is less fatiguing, and a lot more fun!" he says.

What To Expect During Your Appointment

EPIC-5100 Vision Diagnostic System

Epic-300x105 Sonoma Eyeworks

We use the latest technology, the Epic-5100 Vision Diagnostic System

An example of Dr. Harmon’s commitment to technology is his new EPIC–5100 Vision Diagnostic System. Vision diagnostic results are faster, yet more accurate. The new highly advanced EPIC refraction system is both user and patient friendly and takes accuracy to a whole new level. The world’s first reversible display and tilt-able 8.4” color touch panel LCD screen can be turned to the patient and user as a visibility check with programmable exams. The Epic system integrates 3-D wave front data into subjective refraction and the auto lensometer maintains proper convergence at variable near-working distances. Patient data is collected and transferred into our computer network with a single touch of a button.

optomap® Retinal Examination

optos-300x63 Sonoma Eyeworks
In addition to your routine eye exam, Sonoma Eyeworks® now offers High Resolution Retinal Photography, which uses a computer-integrated digital imaging system to record a detailed view of the retina. Since nothing touches the eye, photo-documentation is painless. Digital image provides an excellent reference point for future comparisons without the need for dilation drops.

Retinal photography assists in the detection and management of problems such as diabetic changes, hypertensive retinopathy, macular degeneration, optic nerve disease, and retinal holes or thinning. We recommend that all of our patients receive this test. Additional fee is $39.00. Retinal photos are not covered under most vision plans. However, depending upon your diagnosis, this may be covered by Original Medicare plans.
