There’s no substitute for experience and longevity… Our opticians have received specialized training in both fundamental and advanced optical designs and procedures. We look forward to sharing our dispensing expertise and passion for eyewear with you! Most of our staff maintains membership in the American Board of Opticianry (ABO), and National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE), whose membership indicates the highest level of expertise.

Office Manager
Office Manager Monica Campbell joined Sonoma Eyeworks in October 2018. She graduated from Berkeley in 2008 and began working in the hospitality industry. Eventually, she transitioned into accounting and went on to become a staff accountant in San Francisco. Her hospitality background helps us to better serve our patients. She is an avid hiker and loves spending time with her Brazilian family and dog, Mushroom.

A licensed and ABO certified optician for over 20 years, Malcolm has a fashion-forward approach to optical combined with technical knowledge to provide an excellent customer experience from frame selection to dispense. A recent transplant to Sonoma County, he can be found exploring the local wine scene of Dry Creek Valley and surrounding appellations. He has many varied interests, from motorcycles and contemporary art to woodworking, landscaping, and his daily yoga practice. He also collects vintage comic books from the Bronze Age.

Wayne Wilmsen, a founding member of our team, is our Laboratory manager. He has more than 30 years in the business and fabricates the fashion-forward eyewear we are known for in Sonoma County. In “Wayne’s World,” he works with our vendors throughout the United States and abroad on a daily basis, placing orders for optical frames and lenses. Wayne enjoys spending time with his family, wife, Denelle, and son, Troy. He is a competitive pool player and an avid sports fan who is loyal to his beloved Lakers, Dodgers, and Raiders.
Ella Ortiz-Mendoza, Assistant Manager

Ella Ortiz-Mendoza joined Sonoma Eyeworks in February 2021. She started her optical career in 2010 and is certified by the American Board of Opticianry. She is fluent in English and Spanish. On her time off, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, dog, and cat. Ella has a passion for keeping up with the latest trends in fashion, which makes her a great frame buyer. She keeps the office up to date with the most current eyewear and finds styles that work for every face. Her favorite part of the job is seeing a patient’s smile when they find their perfect pair of glasses.

Marisol Aldana started her optical career in 2017 and joined Sonoma Eyeworks in June 2021. She found a true passion for helping others find eyewear that not only looks good but fits well. She has blossomed into a knowledgeable and skilled optician ready to help you when you walk through our doors. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Family is extremely important to Marisol, and she enjoys spending quality time with them when she is not working.

Cat is the newest member of the team and has over 15 years of experience as an optician. From educating patients on lens options to finding the perfect frame, she gives the care and help you need to feel confident in your selection. Cat prides herself in making everyone feel comfortable and loves connecting with people. Originally from the South Bay, Cat is new to Sonoma County and is eager for any recommendations to explore the area. When she finds the time, she dabbles in drawing, tattooing,
camping, gardening, and of course enjoying an ice cold IPA or glass of red wine.

Allen Voskanian joined our team in June 2026 after a recent move to
Calistoga from Los Angeles. He began his career in the world of optics
in 2010 working for Oliver Peoples in Malibu and found his passion for
stylish eyewear. Shortly after becoming board certified optician he
managed the Malibu boutique for 13 years and helped his loyal clientele
pick the perfect frames while building long lasting relationships. In
his free time he loves cycling, ice hockey, all things with great design
and exploring all the hidden gems in Napa/Sonoma with his sommelier
girlfriend and their recently adopted Maltipoo named Georgie.
